Literature Council of Bhutan which was initially established on 19th March, 1993 as Nepali Bhasha Parisad, Bhutan with prima-facie objective to promote and preserve Nepali language. This Nepali Bhasha Parisad, Bhutan was renamed as Nepali Shahitya Parisad, Bhutan in 2006 A.D and finally, now, it took the name as Literature Council of Bhutan on June 11, 2011 with some major changes in structure, extension of area of work and up- gradation of its academic capacity inconformity with changed scenario and need of Bhutanese literary workers, readers and commoners spread over the various parts of globe.
